Located along craggy bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the St. Regis Monarch Beach is among South California's top resort destinations.

And the property has nearly completed its extensive $30 million renovation, which is sure to elevate its standing even further as one of the area's premier resorts.

The property, which opened in 2001, will reopen with a revamped look and updated amenities for each of its 400 rooms and suites.

Overseeing the project from concept to construction, the Los Angeles firm Rodrigo Vargas Design employed coastal-inspired palette of cool blues, greens and whites that meld with the Mediterranean-influenced architecture.

The rejuvenated rooms feature floor-to-ceiling textiles, sea grass-textured wallpaper, chaise lounges, ocean-themed artwork, marble-topped armoires to match bathrooms, and brand-new furniture on the patios and balconies.

State-of-the-art, in-room technology includes communication audio panels that allow guests to request housekeeping services at the push of a button; a digital "press reader" service that offers access to over 3,000 magazines and newspapers; and Bluetooth-enabled alarm clocks.

The renovations extend to the rest of the property as well.  Motif, one of the resort's seven eateries, will unveil a new menu that incorporates organic produce, sustainable seafood, and seasonal produce.

The restaurant is also curating a garden and a rooftop bee program to source herbs, vegetables, fruits and honey for its dishes and delicacies.
